Get the party started. Checkers anyone? Well yeah, this is not the checkers that you are used to play. This checker is different from its original but the idea and rules are the same. Who could think of that checkers can be transformed as a drinking game? It is a perfect idea for parties to make your game day interesting.  Bamboo bathtub caddy

Awesome Inventions websites has produced this beautiful Bamboo bathtub caddy designed by  Luciano Lorenzatti. I think this is great idea from him that will help those people who like to relax while they are having a bath.  This bathtub will allow you to enjoy your favorite book and a glass of wine. I cannot tell how many books I have dropped in the water. This will solve the problem.  With this design I do not have to worry about dropping my book in the bath.  If you like long soaking bath and you are a reader as well, I would recommend this product. I think bamboo tray looks more beautiful than those metal trays. They do not have this beauty added that bamboo tray has. His design is constructed pf bamboo and stainless steel. It is measured 28 inches and extends up to 37 inches.

I would love to get this bathtub caddy, because I always enjoy reading in the bath, but I have not taken my iPad in fear that I will drop it of in the water. This caddy is sturdy enough that can hold an iPad. It costs $40, so it would not be wasting of money when you want to keep your item which costs $700.

It is adjustable and can easily fit on your bathtub. You just need to adjust the metal side handles with the size of your tub. The Bamboo bathtub caddy is a very neat design which removes the concern of thinking that you might not enjoy your bath, because you would have always think that your book will drop in water or you do not have space to put enjoy your glass of wine. This design will make you relax perfectly and will help you take the stress out of your day.

The soap holder has holes in it in order to let the soap to breathe and dry after using. Behind the book holder there is 3 small spots, so you can put razors or some other types of items that you need while you  are having your relax in luxury  with the bathtub caddy.

Now when I know there is bathtub caddy like this, I think my baths were not complete all this time.  This design will complete everything you need for your perfect soak. 

                                          Winter Olympics 2014, Logo Design

    

Yes!! Finally 4 years has been passed and now we are able to watch and enjoy 22nd Winter Olympic games. Winter Olympic game is a major international multi-sport event that held in Sochi, Russia this year. This is one of my favorite  sport events because it  unites the world. Sochi has been chosen the host city and it would be the centered of attention of the whole world, so the main thing that people would start looking for and recognize the event would be the logo. Swiss Studio Interband designed the logo of Sochi in Moscow.

The official Sochi Olympic game logo does not have any pictorial symbol besides the standard Olympic rings. You cannot find any representation. If someone designs a logo, especially when the  whole world is going to watch, you have to make some kind of logo that would represent the particular country, culture or traditions. In this way the world would be able to get to know your country as well. The Olympics Games logo design should have been look futuristic and promising, because it ia game about competition of the world.

I   do not prefer this logo. When I watched the premier of this sporting event I was expecting from Russia to have a harmonious logo design because I knew they had made the open ceremony very creative with a high professionalism. The logo of Olympics looks like they have not put too much time on it and it is not professional at all. The logo of the game does not show anything else besides reflection of letters “h & I” with the numbers “1 & 4” HI/14, which  is not making any sense to me and there was no point to make like that.

What were they thinking when they put the “.ru” next to Sochi? It looks like more advertisement than logo. They went for an advertisement for a website. There is no point to advertise the website, because anyways the whole world is going to follow up with it through the website. The color is working well with winter, but the font does not look right. It is bothering my eye and it is not really visible what is written. If there was not the Olympic rings, I would have thought that it is an advertisement for a travel agency to travel Russia.

I would improve the logo by having more colors, nice flowing curves and unique typography. I would make something that will represent relaxation, peace and freedom. If I were to improve anything in this logo I would add symbols that would be related to Olympic games, such as skill, timing, speed and flight. This year the Olympic game is held in Russia, (one of the Soviet Unions countries), this would be an idea to show it to the world that on of the major games is in Russia, by having elements on the logo representing Soviet Union. Nevertheless, we cannot change anything, the bad choice has been made and it has been already shown to the world. 

 

 

Bulb Table

 

 

 

I found an Irish designer Joseph Walsh who mostly designs items with wood. Joseph Walsh opened his studio and workshop in 1999 Co. Cork, Ireland. He is a self-taught designer. The way he makes designs from wood looks beautiful but it does not really look functional. In his artworks there is high level of professionalism, but by looking at his designed furniture’s, they are not comfortable. The pieces that he used to create a design follow a different path unlike the classical furniture that we use today. He composes elasticity of the material, such as most of the chairs that he designed look like they are doing some kind of yoga positions.

                                                                

 

The materials that he used are native yew and olive ash and it is covered by white oil and lacquer. He stripes the wood into thin layers and reconstructing it into a composition.

One of his designed furniture that I want to talk about is this round table with its’ ten chairs. First of all I am going to argue that there would not feet ten people, because the table is too small for ten people to be sitting and eating a dinner.

I will start from the design of the chair, because that is one of the most important things that need to be convenient when you are having your rest. I do not imagine putting my back on those chairs, because they are so thin and they would probably hurt your shoulders and put you in pain. So this is something for sure that I would not recommend anyone to buy.

The table has a big hole in the middle of it, where a big vase has taken a place. If that is a vase for fresh flowers in the middle, how would I change the water? By looking closely on his designed table and vase there is not any way to be able to change the water of a vase. This  would be a wasting of money if I were to by this furniture, because no one would like to have something in his/her house that would not do its’ job. The vase is taking too much space and if you have to make a dinner for your guest you are going to need more room for the food to put on the table, especially I am coming from Armenian family and we love to have different types of meals and dishes whenever we are having guest over to our house. There is another concern comes up about this cool design. Where people are going to feet their legs? The bottom of a table is designed like it is a garlic. It is too big and people have to put their legs somewhere else, bedsides underneath of the table. I would prefer to improve the design by making something simple to hold the table.

It always amazes me when I am looking at cake decoration on websites. The creations that people make into cakes is such an interesting idea, so they can look real at the same time.  If you are a cake decorator you need to have your own secrets in order to have the cake taste better and the look to be amazing. One of the cake designs that caught my eye, while I was browsing on the internet in order to get ideas for my next birthday cake, I found Kate Sullivan’s Decorated Cake. The first thing that I like about this cake design is that it has a story to tell. The idea to design the cake exactly as the event’s  main dress looks like is very unique. Or may be this is one of the ways to inspire yourself and make some ideas that you haven’t think of that before.  She almost matched the dress color with the cake’s color and patterns are just  the copy of the dress.

The cake is a very traditional part of the party as well as a way to express your personality. Besides so many flavors to choose from for your cake probably the design, which will be customized special for you, is another important thing. The person who runs the event needs to be aware  that the taste of the cake is not just a yummy dessert but a decoration that everyone will remember.

The cake design needs to match with the theme and other small materials or ornaments that particular event has. The professional designer would look at those and his/her responsibility is to go deep inside of the theme in order to have his work professional and pretty.

This cake would look very simple if there was not hidden the idea of matching the cake with the party dress. The cake is decorated with hand, it has soft blue color, white shapes that create pattern and a piece of product which defines the dress.

The patterns of a cake are very neat, because each shape of a pattern has the same size as it is shown on a dress. There is also a beautiful floral pattern and pure looking stones on the pattern  which completes the cake  decoration   as a piece of work which reflects to the dress.

I am very impressed with the cake. It is absolutely gorgeous. If this was my cake I do not imagine myself cutting this beautiful work. This is an amazing cake decoration and new techniques that I explored.
