Urban Light

Urban Light at LACMA is located in Los Angeles. It  consists of 202 antique street lamps. Everyone should experience it because it takes away the stress of everyday life, especially during the nights when everything is dark and the only light you can see is coming from  202 lamps.  Urban Lights is very romantic, dramatic and a perfect spot to take pictures or just relax.

The Urban Light designer is Chris Burden, who divided the lamps in to 17 different styles. They vary from size and height. Most of them are 20 -3o feet, grey color and solar power lights. Burden has been collecting lamps from 2000 but he did not have idea that he was going to make a this kind of sculpture. As the collection grew he ended up making this wonderful piece of art that we can enjoy today in Los angels. A lot of couples who are getting married or engaged, Birthday celebrities come here in order to have this beautiful design for their photo-shoots.

First looking at these lamps it makes you go back to the history and feel like your in a different century. It reminds me of Europe, since it is popular with this kind of street lights. It is great idea from the designer to have the touch of the Europe in America.

                           Digital Clock

German Engineering has invented this digital watch. I have not seen digital watch, this is the first clock that I have seen in English  and you can set your particular language if you want.  I do not have to have a clock with words, unless someone really does not know how to check the time. Even though it has a really modern design, but I do not think that there is any point to make a this type of clock. It costs $665 which is very expensive for the clock.  It is intended to be a night-stand alarm clock but it does not have a battery back up, so if this alarm has to wake you up, you might oversleep.

I am not a morning person and if I were to wake up and check the time with this clock, I will get confused trying to read from up to bottom. It is not convenient. If I were to improve  this design , I would definitely make it more comfortable for people . If it has to be  a digital clock I would make numbers digital speeded all around the screen and whatever the time is the LED lights would help to get informed to check the time.

ICEHOTEL in Sweden  

The ice hotel, which is located in Sweden is the world largest and first hotel that is made of snow. It can take up to 50.000 visitors. In my opinion, this is one of the places where everyone should visit to have a life time experience. Making a hotel which is build by an ice is a great idea, because it represents the theme of the particular country. Sweden is very famous with its coldness and skiing resorts, so this is a unique way to have a something that will describe the country for the visitors from all over the countries. The hotel is closed during spring and summer, because they need to reconstruct. Now, how do they reconstruct? They have the snow and ice harvested in a cold storage during  spring and summer. People can only stay in this Ice hotel during December till mid of April. When the ice slowly turns to melt it returned to be the Torn River. ICEHOTEL 5,500 square meter according the hotel website. Based on website of the hotel is constructed from 1000  of ton river ice and 30,000 tones of “snice”, a mixture of snow. They have mostly invited artist to design patterns of the hotel.

The ICEHOTEL is very beautiful work of art. The architecture, design and idea gives the hotel modern look. First looking at the hotel you would not think that it is made of ice, because each design that is made on the walls is carved very accurate and softly.

In ICEHOTEL every item is made of ice. The chairs, beds, lamps, windows and etc.

The window separates from the walls. The artists who designed the interior design has accurately made the sense of having a window.

I remember myself being a kid and trying to make a snowman out of snow and I was getting frustrated, because I was not able to really attach them together. Now I see this flowers, glass and tables made out of snow  and even though I can see it in front of my eyes but I still believe that it is impossible to make. It means they achieved the high professionalism.

Everyone wants to have  their dream house with their dream room. The Russian website Stroyka-team.com helps you to get inspired with different types of ideas. The designer, Inna Vaschenko, is  a interior designer, who has a great taste  to make each design harmonious.  A room that  you will have everything you need to feel comfortable. The bedroom  is everyone’s favorite place where they can escape away from the stress and relax. Those who want to relax this room is the perfect place. As you can see my dream bedroom would be  in violet color which will show my personality. Every single item or material is harmonious with each other. The designer who designed the room constructed it fancy but simple at the same time. They tried to make a romantic mood.  This bedroom is consists of everything in one. It is bedroom  and office at the same time.

Since the bedroom is in violet and white, it was a great idea from a designer to have curtains divided into violet and white. Curtains do not have any pattern on them, which does not make the room to be heavy.

The bed looks really convenient and modern.  It is covered with violet as well and the fabric creates a passionate look.

Some of The walls are designed with lights and one of the passionately cut in to a shelf in order to put souvenirs or picture frames. 

The celling is very impressive and makes you to look at it for a long time to catch each detail.. The way is shaped is like speaking with the walls and the closet, since the closet has a wavy pattern on it. Each designed way circle holds fancy chandeliers. The chandeliers are wavy as well, so the whole point that designer wanted to come up is to have a bedroom in a specific style. The lightening completes the beauty of the celling. Having light on the edges makes the room modern and unique. In y opinion if the celling was not designed this way, the bedroom would not look this beautiful for me.  Your space is a reflection of yourself, so this  design is completely the dream room that I would like to have.

Organ Donation Poster 

Organ donation is a life saving operation that transfers form donor to recipient after the person dies. You can make people happy by donating your organ when you are dead. For this kind of corporation designers need to make a some kind of poster or advertisement in order to promote people in this industry. organ donation is neccerary and people should be informed about it through posters, because most of the population do not really care about this idea.  One of my friends who is a doctor she asked me to think about donating my organ and I started browsing different websites in order to sign up. I found donating website called: Re-borntobealive.be, which is designed to sing up and donate your organs. First thing that I noticed, since I am design student, was the poster that they have in Netherlands.  The poster consists of   an almost naked woman with an sexy reaction on her face. First looking at the picture you would thing this poster is about to promoting for prostitution or some kind of sex shops. Donating an organ represents compassion not a  sexy body in order encourage people to help those who are in need.

Who said that only almost naked woman has to advertise the organ donation? It sees like only these kind of thin ladies deserve donations. and

This is does not make any sense. The whole idea is to encourage people and inform that donating organ is very important decision that everyone should make. Looking at poster the lady has a more attention than the whole idea. The poster says ‘Becoming a donor is probably your only chance to get inside her”. Besides  that it is a wrong wording it also wants to say that their audience is male individuals. It is embracing. This is not for a serious foundation.  They want to save lives, but they do not understand that donating organ has nothing to do with sex.

I would change this add totally. I would find ways to improve and help people to get informed by having pictures of different ages and types of people  holding their organs with a smile on their face. I would change the wording and I owl probably say “do not take your organs to heaven”.
